- 3-4 lb beef chuck roast
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 sandwich buns
- Optional: caramelized onions, fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker. Add sliced onions, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours until the beef is tender and easy to shred.
- Remove the beef and shred it using two forks. Strain the cooking liquid to make a rich au jus.
- Toast the sandwich buns lightly. Serve the beef on buns with a dip of the warm au jus. Garnish with caramelized onions and parsley if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine to the au jus during cooking.
- Use a good quality beef broth for a richer taste.
- Serve with crispy fries or a side salad for a complete meal.
