Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh or canned peaches, diced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: cinnamon, nutmeg, or lemon zest for added flavor
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine diced peaches, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and optional spices. Stir well until the mixture is evenly coated. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the sheet into squares or circles, depending on your preferred shape.
- Place a spoonful of the peach filling in the center of each pastry square. Carefully roll or fold the pastry around the filling to create a sealed package. Place the assembled cruffins into a greased muffin tin.
- Brush the tops of the cruffins with beaten egg for a shiny finish. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar or serving.
Notes
- Use fresh or thawed frozen peaches for the best results.
- Feel free to customize with cinnamon, nutmeg, or lemon zest for extra flavor.
- Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed before rolling to avoid tearing.
- Check baking time for different oven calibrations; adjust as needed.
