A rich and indulgent holiday treat that combines a crunchy toffee base with a glossy chocolate layer and crunchy nuts, ideal for festive occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped almonds or pecans

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add brown sugar and salt, stirring constantly until the mixture boils and turns a caramel color, about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading evenly.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee.
  7. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then spread melted chocolate smoothly over the surface.
  8. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top while the chocolate is still warm.
  9. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces to serve.
