- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer bread cubes evenly in the dish, sprinkling blueberries over the bread.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and blueberries, pressing down gently to soak.
- Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and set.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
- Use stale bread for best absorption.
- Can be prepared a day ahead and baked fresh in the morning.
- Serve with maple syrup for extra sweetness.
