Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg; knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread ricotta cheese evenly, then dollop currant jam on top.
- Roll up the dough tightly, then cut into 12 equal slices.
- Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish, let rise for 30 minutes.
- Brush tops with beaten egg, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Mix powdered sugar with a little water to create glaze, drizzle over hot buns.

- Ensure the dough is properly risen for soft, fluffy buns.
- You can substitute ricotta with mascarpone for variation.
- Currant jam can be replaced with raspberry or berry jam.
