Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk, 1 teaspoon sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, combine remaining sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture. Gradually mix in flour until a soft, elastic dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes.
- First Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Filling: Punch down the dough, roll into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread melted butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Add raisins or nuts if desired. Roll tightly and cut into 12 slices.
- Baking: Arrange slices in a greased pan, cover, and let rise 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Make the Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls immediately after baking.

- If using instant yeast, skip proofing and add directly to the dry ingredients.
