- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup sliced scallions
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 20 store-bought wonton wrappers
- 1/2 pound ground pork or chicken
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- In a bowl, combine ground pork or chicken with a pinch of salt, pepper, and half of the scallions.
- Place a teaspoon of filling onto each wonton wrapper and seal edges.
- Gently drop wontons into boiling broth and cook for about 5 minutes until tender.
- Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil, and simmer for another minute.
- Serve hot, garnished with remaining scallions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken or beef for pork.
- For a vegetarian version, use tofu or vegetables instead of meat.
- Make extra wontons and freeze for quick future meals.
