- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 whole pita bread or flatbreads
- Fresh cucumber, sliced
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Feta cheese, crumbled
For the feta tzatziki:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 cucumber, grated and drained
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh dill or mint, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Coat the chicken evenly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked. Rest before slicing thinly.
- In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, feta, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
- Warm the pita bread using a skillet or slow cooker. Spread tzatziki, then add sliced chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, parsley, and feta. Wrap and serve.
Notes
- Refrigerate leftover cooked chicken in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Keep tzatziki separate and chill for up to 24 hours before serving.
- Feel free to customize with other fresh vegetables or herbs.
