Instructions
- Begin by warming the milk until just warm (about 110°F). In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Add the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
- Cook bacon until crispy, then drain and crumble. Mix cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll out dough into a 16×12 inch rectangle. Spread maple syrup with bacon evenly over dough, then sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar mixture.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, bourbon, milk, and vanilla for the glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls to enhance flavor and presentation.
