Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray and set aside. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix in the mashed bananas until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Optional: sprinkle chopped walnuts or chocolate chips on top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven, let cool completely before slicing. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for maximum moisture and flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread moist and fluffy.
- For extra moistness, consider adding a tablespoon of sour cream or yogurt.
- Wrap slices tightly in plastic wrap before freezing for longer storage.
