Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- Add flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, then cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Prepare pecan filling by mixing chopped pecans, brown sugar, softened butter, and vanilla until combined.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into a large circle, then cut into wedges.
- Place a spoonful of pecan filling on each wedge, then roll up from the wide end to form crescent shapes.
- Arrange rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Optional: brush with melted butter or glaze before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the dough is properly risen for flaky layers.
- You can add a touch of cinnamon to the filling for extra warmth.
- Serve warm with a drizzle of honey or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
