- 1 pound ground beef (or sausage)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 8 ounces (about 2 cups) lasagna noodles, broken
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with chopped onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Transfer to the crockpot.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, broth, oregano, and basil. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Add broken noodles during the last 30 minutes of cooking and stir.
- Once noodles are tender, sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan on top. Cover briefly until cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Use gluten-free noodles for a gluten-free version.
