Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large apples (Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Optional: Powdered sugar or caramel sauce for topping
Instructions
- Wash and peel the apples, then cut into uniform sticks about 3-4 inches long and 1/2 inch thick. Core is optional but recommended.
- Set up three bowls: one with whisked eggs and milk, one with a mixture of flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and another with panko breadcrumbs mixed with sugar.
- Dip each apple stick into the flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and finally coat thoroughly with the panko mixture.
- Preheat your Ninja Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the coated apple sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring space for air circulation.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly. Optional: dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best texture.
- Ensure uniform size of apple sticks for even cooking.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to maintain crispiness.
- Try different coatings such as crushed nuts or oats for variation.
- Serve immediately for maximum crunch.
