- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 4-5 tablespoons ice water
- 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Fuji)

- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Add cold butter and cut in until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough forms. Divide in half, shape into disks, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out one disk on a floured surface and fit into a pie dish.
- Mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour filling into pie crust.
- Roll out the second disk and place over filling. Trim edges and crimp; cut small slits to vent.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Cool before serving.
Notes
- Use cold butter for a flaky crust.
- Adjust sugar based on apple tartness.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
