Ingredients

  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, whisk to combine.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
