Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, whisk to combine.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, brush the rolls with garlic butter before baking.
- You can freeze the unbaked rolls and bake them directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to baking time.
