A quick and savory pepper steak recipe featuring tender beef slices cooked with vibrant bell peppers and onions in a flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a little water. Set aside.
  2. Heat one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef slices and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to the skillet. Sauté garlic and sliced onions until fragrant and translucent.
  4. Add sliced bell peppers and cook until slightly tender.
  5. Return beef to the skillet. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables. Toss well to coat and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken or tofu for beef if preferred.
  • For extra spice, add crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
