- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening gravy)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, chopped onion, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly and shape into 1-1.5 inch meatballs.
- Place meatballs into the slow cooker. Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, and tomato paste, then pour over the meatballs. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Optional: Remove meatballs, whisk cornstarch into a small amount of cold water, then stir into the slow cooker. Cook uncovered on high for 10-15 minutes until thickened. Return meatballs to the gravy before serving.
Notes
- Use gluten-free bread crumbs and Worcestershire sauce for gluten-free version.
- Stir in additional herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra flavor.
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the gravy.
