- 1 large head of green cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water until soft, then drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Place a spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in sides.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and lightly sauté the cabbage rolls until browned.
- Transfer rolls to a baking dish, pour diced tomatoes over them, cover with foil.
- Bake for 40 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Adding a splash of hot sauce or a pinch of red pepper flakes can spice up the filling.
