  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or basil

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, and minced garlic to create the glaze.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  4. Pour the balsamic mixture into the skillet to deglaze, scraping up browned bits. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, spooning glaze over. Cover and cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes until cooked through and coated in glaze.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the balsamic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts for a juicier result.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or basil for freshness.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
