Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or basil
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
- In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, and minced garlic to create the glaze.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Pour the balsamic mixture into the skillet to deglaze, scraping up browned bits. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spooning glaze over. Cover and cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes until cooked through and coated in glaze.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the balsamic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts for a juicier result.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or basil for freshness.
- Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
