Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) of your favorite noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles work beautifully)
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional for extra savory depth)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon honey or brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start by boiling water and cooking your noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. Thinly slice the chicken breasts and prepare your garlic by mincing it thoroughly for maximum flavor.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and honey to create a savory, sticky sauce base. Let it simmer for a minute to combine flavors.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss with the garlic sauce. Add the cooked noodles and stir well to ensure the noodles are coated evenly with the sticky garlic sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing everything to meld together beautifully.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot for the best flavor experience. Consider adding vegetables like bok choy or bell peppers for extra crunch and nutrients, sautéed along with the chicken.
Notes
- Make sure to mince garlic finely to maximize flavor and aroma.
- Always cook noodles al dente to prevent them from becoming mushy after stir-frying.
- Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce quantities based on your salt preference.
- For extra garnish, sprinkle additional sesame seeds or chopped chili flakes.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat in the microwave or stir-fry to warm.
