- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips or chopped milk chocolate
- Orange, black, and green icing for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until combined.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll dough into small balls and flatten slightly. With a small knife or cookie cutter, carve out pumpkin faces.
- Place on baking sheet, bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- Cool completely, then fill with melted milk chocolate or chocolate chips.
- Decorate with orange, black, and green icing to resemble jack-o’-lantern faces and stems.
Notes
- You can customize pumpkin face decorations for more variety. Use piping bags for detailed icing designs.
- Chocolate filling can be made by melting chocolate chips and spooning into the cookies before sealing.
