- 1 cup chopped apples (preferably Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in chopped apples.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar and slice into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- Use tart apples for an optimal flavor balance.
- Can be served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
