Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • Butter for cooking
  • Syrup and powdered sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add egg, buttermilk, and maple syrup; stir until smooth.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a small amount of butter.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the skillet, cooking until bubbles form and edges are golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove from skillet, drizzle with syrup, dust with powdered sugar, and serve hot.
