- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce (for glazing)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Fold in chopped apples and walnuts.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool, then drizzle with caramel sauce and garnish with extra walnuts and apple slices.
Notes
- You can substitute apples with pears for a different flavor.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
