Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until bubbly, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, melted butter, and mix to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. In a small bowl, mix minced garlic and melted butter. Brush the tops of the rolls generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and chopped parsley.
  7. Return to oven for an additional 5 minutes until cheese melts and topping is crispy. Serve warm.

  • Ensure milk is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
  • For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter.
