- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and powdered sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the dish to form crust.
- In a bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread evenly over the crust.
- In a small bowl, mix oats and chopped pecans. Sprinkle over the apples as a topping.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
- You can substitute pecans with chopped walnuts or leave nuts out for nut-free version.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
