- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (64g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter. Add sugar and stir until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra fudginess, underbake by 2 minutes.
- You can substitute chocolate chips with nuts or caramel chunks for variation.
