- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Nutella
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mix well.
- Sift in flour and salt, then combine to form dough.
- Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out one dough portion on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut out cookies using a round or fluted cutter, then cut out a small shape in the center of half of them for the lattice top.
- Place cookies on prepared baking sheet. Spread Nutella on the whole cookies, then top with lattice-cut cookies.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on wire racks.
Notes
- Chill dough to prevent spreading during baking.
- Use a small star or circle cutter for the lattice design.
- Dust with powdered sugar for an extra festive look.
