Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 teaspoon water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Dip shrimp in beaten eggs, then coat with corn starch.
  2. Fry the shrimp in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add toasted walnuts to the sauce and stir to coat.
  5. If desired, add cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce slightly.
  6. Toss the fried shrimp in the honey walnut sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve immediately garnished with extra walnuts and fresh herbs.

Notes
