- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 3 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a double boiler, melt butter and dark chocolate until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla until combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture.
- Stir in flour and salt until just combined. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes. Cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in melted semi-sweet chocolate.
- Spread the mousse over the cooled brownie layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings and optional chocolate drizzle before serving.
