- 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cooked Italian sausage or ground beef (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Cook tortellini according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Optional: Add cooked Italian sausage or ground beef, cook until browned.
- Stir in marinara sauce, basil, and oregano. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix cooked tortellini with the sauce mixture. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
- Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute with spinach or other vegetables for added nutrition.
- Use pre-cooked sausage for quicker preparation.
- Best served hot with extra cheese on top.
