Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or smashburger patties
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sour cream and salsa (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Add the ground beef or smashburger patties, season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Press down to flatten and cook 2-3 minutes per side until crispy and browned.
- Remove cooked patties and set aside. In the same skillet, place a flour tortilla, spread a handful of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over half. Top with a cooked burger patty, sprinkle diced onions, then add more cheese. Fold the tortilla to enclose the fillings.
- Cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the bottom. Flip carefully with a spatula and cook the other side until cheese is melted and both sides are crispy. Repeat with remaining tortillas and fillings.
Notes
- Ensure the burgers are cooked well before assembling the quesadillas for best flavor and texture.
- You can customize the fillings with jalapeños, tomatoes, or bacon bits for added flavor.
- Use whole wheat tortillas to add fiber or vegetarian substitutes like black beans for a meatless version.
