Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) of sweet Italian sausage, sliced
  • 8 oz (225 g) of pasta (penne or spaghetti)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or pot, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add sliced bell peppers and garlic to the same pot; sauté until peppers are tender.
  3. Return sausage to the pot, add Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper; stir well.
  4. Add pasta and enough water to cover; bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, simmer until pasta is cooked and water is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, cook for another 2 minutes to combine flavors.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
