Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: diced tomatoes for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in chopped basil and cook for 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over, then sprinkle mozzarella evenly on top. Cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts and is bubbly. Garnish with diced tomatoes if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce.
- Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety and juiciness.
- Best enjoyed fresh; leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
