Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant and translucent.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and garlic, stirring well to create a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer.
- Return chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes until cooked through and gravy thickens.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine during the gravy-making process.
- Can be served over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a complete meal.
