Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for extra texture
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- Zest and mash ripe bananas until smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts or chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or store for later.
Notes
- For added flavor, fold chopped walnuts or chocolate chips into the batter before baking.
- Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate up to a week.
- For longer storage, freeze slices individually wrapped in plastic wrap and foil.
