  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: 10 slices

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips for extra texture

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Zest and mash ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts or chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or store for later.

Notes

  • For added flavor, fold chopped walnuts or chocolate chips into the batter before baking.
  • Store banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate up to a week.
  • For longer storage, freeze slices individually wrapped in plastic wrap and foil.
