Enjoy the irresistible crunch and warm cinnamon flavor of Baked Churro Bliss. These baked churro bites are a healthier, guilt-free twist on traditional churros, perfect for parties, snacks, or satisfying your sweet tooth with minimal oil and easy preparation.

  • Total Time: 25-30 minutes
  • Yield: 20-24 churro bites

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Optional: melted chocolate or caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Start by heating the water and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Once simmering, remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a smooth dough. Let it cool slightly.
  2. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract; your dough should be smooth and sticky.
  3. Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe short lengths of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Alternatively, use two spoons to form small mounds.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Meanwhile, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. Once baked, brush the churro bites with melted butter and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture for maximum flavor. Drizzle with optional melted chocolate or caramel if desired.

Notes

  • For a crispier exterior, reheat in the oven or air fryer before serving.
  • Adjust the cinnamon sugar coating for a sweeter or more cinnamon-forward flavor.
  • Use dairy-free butter or oil to make this recipe vegan.
